I am photographing the plastic cloth hiding the temporary transformations of the city. These covered constructions are giving the beholder of the city a break, a well needed interruption, that allows for new understandings to rise. But the plastic cloth not only hides the constant alterations of the city, it also presents itself as an alternative to the rigid, formalistic, architecture behind it. The covered building is formless. Storms tear it apart, containers, tunnels for crap, elevators and more adds to the flowing, fluttering cloth. It is indeterminate matter that like figurative cumulus clouds, is constantly reshaping itself. It is an irrational monster caught on camera.
